Betty Fayrene Murphy age 69 years of Whitley City, Kentucky died Thursday, July 12, 2012 at the UKMC in Lexington, Kentucky. Funeral services will be held Monday, July 16, 2012 at 2:00 pm with Bro. Dou Goodin and Bro. Bobby Cole officiating. Burial followed in the Indian Creek Cemetery.
She was born August 16, 1942 in McCreary County, Kentucky to Mildred Perry. Betty was a member of the Indian Creek United Baptist Church and was a homemaker.
Her parents, daughters, Susie Murphy and Lynn Faye Murphy, brother Alvin “Little Red” Perry, and a great-grandson, Devon precede her in death.
Survivors include her husband, Edward Murphy of Whitley City, Kentucky; sons, James Murphy and Bobby Gene Murphy, both of Whitley City, Kentucky; daughters, Brenda S. Andrews, Patricia Reed, Donna Kay Jones, all of Whitley City, Kentucky, Fayrene Goodin of Parkers Lake, Kentucky, Tricia Ambercrombie of Stearns, Kentucky, Kandy Rednour of Monticello, Kentucky, Judy Ann Murphy of Whitley City, Kentucky, Jonie Lee Hastings of Clinton, Tennessee, Linda Stephens of Whitley City, Kentucky, Pam Murphy of Whitley City, Kentucky, and Lisa Cheatham of Clinton, Tennessee. 16 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren also survive.
