James L. Durham, age 94 years, husband of the late Mae Evelyn "Chigger" Durham, passed away, September 6, 2018. He was born August 10, 1924.
James is survived by his sons, Herbert McCulley and wife Patricia of Pine Knot, KY., James Fuson and wife Lynn of Parkers Lake, KY., daughters, Sheila McCulley and partner Chris Ball of Pine Knot, KY., Sisters, Edna King of Elk Valley, TN and Joyce Bolinger of MO., daughters-in-law, Caarol Blakley and Betty McCulley, 14 grandchildren, 30 Great-grandchildren and 4 great-great grandchildren.
In addition to his wife he is also preceded in death by his parents, John Durham and Mary Ethel Ridner Durham, son, Elmer Peanut McCulley and, Gary Blakley, daughter, Retha Sexton and husband, Roy, brothers, Henry Durham, Cillis Floyd Durham, Charles Durham, John Durham Jr., Flossie Ford Durham, sisters, Anna Faye Durham, and Mary Bolton.
James served his country in the Navy and was a forklift operator for the Kingford Charcoal Company. He really enjoyed his work and taking care of animals, he was well known for taking care of stray animals that needed him. He was a member of the CB club and enjoyed talking to his friends.
Services are Saturday, September 8, 2018, at McCreary County Funeral Home at 6:30 pm, with visitation beginning at 4:30 pm until time for services. Brothers David Troxell and Tommy Tapley officiating, with burial to follow in the Pine Knot cemetery.
