Alice Faye Jones

Alice Faye Jones, age 76 years, of Stearns, Kentucky died Sunday, April 21, 2024 at the Jean Waddle Care Center in Somerset, Kentucky.

She was born in Cooperative, Kentucky on March 1, 1948 the daughter of Arnold and Geneva (Wright) Shoopman. Faye was a member of the Hickory Knob United Baptist Church and had worked as a waitress at the Burger Hut and a bus driver for the McCreary County School System.  She was a devoted wife and homemaker, loved taking walks with her husband, children, and grandchildren; attending church, playing horseshoes, and doing word finds.

Her parents; a daughter, Beverly Jeanine Jones; brother, Archie Shoopman; and sister, Edna Lucille Shoopman precede her in death.

Survivors include her husband, Lonnie Jones of Stearns, Kentucky; son, Randy Jones of Stearns, Kentucky; daughter, Tammy Lawson of Stearns, Kentucky; brothers, Roger Shoopman (Lois) of Revelo, Kentucky, James Roy Shoopman (Glenda) of Berea, Kentucky, Robert Shoopman (Debbie) of Stearns, Kentucky, Jerry Shoopman (Carolene) of Stearns, Kentucky, and Paul Shoopman of Niota, Tennessee; sisters, Delois Jones (Glen) of Monticello, Kentucky, Lena Jones (Bronnie) of Monticello, Kentucky, and Kathy Jones (Howard) of Winfield, Tennessee; grandchildren, Colby Lawson, Tyler Lawson, Kashae Bingham, Alysia Stephens, Alison Henry, Whitney Dishman, and Caleb Jones; 20 great grandchildren; and brothers and sisters-in-law she thought of as her own siblings.

Funeral services will be held 1pm Thursday, April 25, 2024 at the McCreary County Funeral Home with Bro. David Clark officiating. Burial will follow in the Sherd Dobbs Cemetery. The family will receive friends after 11am Thursday at the Funeral Home.
