Archie "Johnny" Lee Vanover

Archie “Johnny” Lee Vanover, age 87 years, of Parkers Lake, Kentucky died Thursday June 12, 2025 at his home.

He was born in Honeybee, Kentucky on May 31, 1938 the son of the late Everett and Laura (Bolton) Vanover. Johnny had worked as Maintenance Coordinator for Kingsford and was a member of the Eagle Creek United Baptist Church. When as what he enjoyed doing his answer was always just work, but he also liked to cut firewood, mow grass, work on small engines, gardening, and being with his dogs.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his wife, Fontella (Strunk) Vanover; daughter, Susan Victoria Vanover; brothers, Ulyss Hubert Vanover, James Herbert Vanover, William Robert Vanover, and Levi Vanover; and sisters, Elizabeth Sloan, Eva Perry, Alpha Reed, and Wanda Sue Cole.

Survivors include his son, Marcus Vanover and wife, Krista of Somerset, Kentucky; brother, Hearl Vanover of Goshen, Ohio; sister, Flora Jean Stouder of Butlerville, Ohio; and grandchildren, Riley Vanover and Hayden Vanover.

Burial was in the Higginbotham Cemetery.
