Arnie Lois Choate

Arnie Lois Choate, age 87 years, of Whitley City, Kentucky passed away Thursday, April 4, 2024 at the Baptist Health Hospital in Corbin, Kentucky.

She was born September 14, 1936 at Bell Farm, Kentucky daughter of the late Ephraim Koger and Lillie (Hill) Koger. She was a member of the Oak Grove United Baptist Church and a retired cook at the McCreary County School System. She loved being a mother and grandmother, being outside and working her flowers. Our loss is truly Heaven’s gain.

Preceding her in death were her husband, Lee Choate; her parents; brothers, Herbert Koger and Dillard Koger; sisters, Marie Kidd, Bertha Beasley, and Helen Morris.

She is survived by her son, Charles (Doris) Choate of Whitley City, Kentucky; her daughter, Donna (Michael) Ryan of Whitley City, Kentucky; her granddaughters, Jennifer (Jeff) Loveless of Science Hill, Kentucky and Lindsey-Lee Ryan of Whitley City, Kentucky; her great grandson, Braylen-Ray Loveless of Science Hill, Kentucky; a special sister, Maggie Baker of Frankfort, Kentucky; along with many special nieces and nephews; and a very special friend, Joyce Jones.  

Funeral services will be held 2pm Sunday, April 7, 2024 at the McCreary County Funeral Home with Bro. Mike King and Bro. Robert Hatfield officiating. Burial to follow in the Sherd Dobbs Cemetery. The family will receive friends after 12pm Sunday at the Funeral Home.
