Arvell Reed Yancey
June 25, 1935 — December 18, 2020
Arvell Reed Yancey, age 85 years, of the Day Ridge Community, died Friday, December 18, 2020 at the Lake Cumberland Regional Hospital in Somerset, Kentucky.
Reed was born in Kayjay, Kentucky on June 25, 1935 the son of Edward and Cana Vay (Vanover) Yancey. He had worked for the Chrysler Corporation in the Stamping Division.
He is preceded in death by his parents; wife, Geraldine (Owens) Yancey; son, Christopher Yancey; daughter, Debbie Yancey; brothers, Clell Yancey and Doyle Yancey; and sisters, Wanda Owens, Alene Sumner, Etta Vay Rose, Ruth Hickman, Joyce Lyons, and Wilma Choates.
Survivors include his son Edward Yancey and wife, Barbara of Whitley City; sisters, Glenna Stanton of Mt. Vernon, Lois Coffey of Whitley City, and Eva Dean Hughes of Parkers Lake; grandchildren, Ashley Yancey and Jessica Yancey; and 8 great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held 1pm Monday, December 21, 2020 at the McCreary County Funeral Home with Bro. John Duvall, Jr. and Bro. Alan Coffey officiating. Burial will follow in the Owens Family Cemetery. The family will receive friends after 11am Monday at the Funeral Home.
