Ary Taylor

December 29, 1927 — February 6, 2016

Ary Taylor, age 88, of Stearns, Kentucky passed away Saturday, February 6, 2016, at Signature Health Care of McCreary.

She retired after forty two years as a School Teacher and was a member of Kentucky Teacher’s Association, and a Kentucky Colonel.  She was a member of the Hilltop Baptist Church and pianist, avid seamstress and enjoyed her daily devotion to bible reading. She also was former member of these churches First Baptist Church of Hazard, Latonia Baptist, Walkers Chapel, Burnside First Baptist, and Somerset First Baptist. 

Ary was born in Hazard, Kentucky on December 29, 1927, to the late Hiram and Flora Lee (Grigsby) Holliday.  Besides her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband Conley Taylor whom she married on June 26, 1954, a Great Grandson, Hayden Heath, four brothers: Samuel Holliday, Ed Holliday, John Holliday and Elbert Holliday and a sister, Alice Holliday Owens.

 Surviving family include her son, Myron Taylor of Parkers Lake, daughter: Jane Powell, of Burnside, Kentucky. She has three surviving brothers: Paul Holliday of Middlesboro, Kentucky, Victor Holliday of Montana and Dennis Holliday of Des Moines, Iowa.  Two grandchildren: Brittany Nicole Taylor Nickols & Bobby of Moorehead, Kentucky, and John Anthony Powell of Plat County, Missouri, great-grandchildren: Taylor Heath and Braden Nickols. 

Funeral services:  1:00 p.m., Thursday, February 11, 2016, at McCreary County Funeral Home with Bro. David Troxell and Bro. Tommy Tapley officiating.

Burial:  Somerset City Cemetery

Visitation:  Wednesday, February 10, 2016 from 6:00 p.m. – 9:00 p.m.

McCreary County Funeral Home entrusted with arrangements.
