Aubry Jones

Mr. Aubry Jones, age 77, of the Rattlesnake Ridge Community in Stearns, Kentucky, passed from this life on Thursday, October 1, 2015, at the Lake Cumberland Regional Hospital in Somerset.

Mr. Jones had been a landscaper in Indiana before moving back to McCreary County.  He was a member of the Pleasant Ridge United Baptist Church.

He was born at Slavens, Kentucky, on May 11, 1938, to the late Billy and Loretta (Bybee) Jones.  Besides his parents, he is preceded in death by his sisters: Thelma Jones, Alma Dobbs, Osha Roberts and Elva Vaughn and five brothers:  Ervin Jones, Deford Jones, Kenneth Jones, Virgil Jones and Porter Jones.

Surviving family include his wife Eva “Sue” (Boles) Jones whom he married in 1980, and four step-sons: Michael Terry of Muncie, Indiana, Daniel Terry (wife Barbara) of Whitley City, Kentucky, Robert Terry of Muncie, and Raymond Terry (wife Beverly) of Stearns, Kentucky.  He has one surviving brother James Jones of Muncie, Indiana.  He has seven grandchildren: Karen Vankirk, Jessica Bryant, Ashley Terry, Heather Terry, Susan Green, Michael Terry, Jr. and Joseph Smithers.  He also had several great grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held at the Pleasant Ridge United Baptist Church on Monday, October 5, 2015 at 11:00 a.m.  Officiating will be Bro. George Coffey, Bro. Tom Abbott and Bro. Stanley Tucker.  He will be laid to rest at the Jones Cemetery on Junction Road.  The family will receive friends on Sunday after 6:00 p.m.at the church.
