Bernice Dean Epperson

Bernice "Burnis" Dean Epperson age 80 of Stearns, Kentucky passed from this life on Thursday, September 17, 2020 at the State of the Heart Hospice Care Center in Greenville, Ohio. 

She was born October 5, 1939 in Flossie, Kentucky to the late Claude Branscum and Mattie (Jones) Branscum.

In addition to her parents, Bernice is preceded in death by her husband, Hubert Epperson; a daughter, Shirley Valentine; brothers, James Oval Branscum and wife, Iva, Arley Branscum and wife, Josephine, Cordus Branscum and wife, Joyce, Leonard Branscum, Grove Thomas Branscum, and Paul Branscum and wife, Marjorie; and sisters, Esteen Cook and husband, McKinley, Ottie Vaughn, Opal Branscum, and Alma Branscum.

Surviving family include her sons, Hobert Epperson and wife, Rhonda, of Covington, Ohio, Mike Epperson and wife, Rita, of Sidney, and George Epperson and wife, Marilyn of Russia, Ohio; daughters, Deb Schilling and husband, Jay, Covington, Martha Dulaney and husband, Larry, of Southhaven, Mississippi, and Sarah Coffey and husband, Jason, of Stearns, Kentucky; sisters-in-law, Juanita Branscum of Houston, Ohio, and Brenda Branscum of Somerset; 16 grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren, and 1 great-great-grandchild. 

Bernice was a member of the Lower Wolf Creek United Baptist Church. She loved nothing more than caring for her family, always cooking and feeding anyone she could. Bernice also enjoyed sewing and quilting, gardening, and canning. She touched many lives along her way and will be sadly missed. 

Funeral service will be held on Sunday, September 20, 2020 at 1:00 pm in the chapel of McCreary County Funeral Home with Bro. Larry Coffey and Bro. David Vaughn officiating. Burial to follow in the Mt. Union Cemetery in Tateville, Kentucky. The family will receive friends for visitation on Sunday after 11:00 am until service time.
