Bertha Louise Corder

Bertha Louise Corder, age 89 years, of Greenwood, Kentucky died Friday, July 14, 2023 at the Hospice of the Bluegrass in Lexington, Kentucky.

She was born in Sloans Valley, Kentucky on July 20, 1933 the daughter of George and Lura (Troxtell) Thompson.  Bertha was a member of the Day Ridge United Baptist Church and had been a factory worker.

Her parents; husband, Rev. Bobby Joe Corder; brothers, Robert Thompson, Joe Bill Thompson, Bobby Thompson, and 2 infant brothers; sister, Nancy Flynn; and several in-laws precede her in death.

Survivors include her children, Debbie McClusky (Dale) of Burkesville, Kentucky; Vela Way (Herbert) of Somerset, Kentucky, George Corder (Judy) of Parkers Lake, Kentucky, and Jennifer Corder of Flat Rock, Kentucky; brothers, Arnold Thompson of Pulaski Co., Kentucky, Gary Wayne Thompson of Pulaski Co, Kentucky, Ronnie Thompson of Ohio, Roger Thompson (Delana) of Ohio, and Mike Thompson of Ohio; sisters, Jean Bullock, Lois Blankenship (Tommy), and Rita Hewitt (Benny) all of Pulaski Co., Kentucky; grandchildren, Jessica Wilder, George Corder, Jr., Kaylynn Glover, Emily Maybriar, Stacey Roberts, and Marcus Poynter; 14 great grandchildren; and 1 great-great grandchild.

Funeral services will be held 2pm Tuesday, July 18, 2023 at the McCreary County Funeral Home with Bro. Bill Wilder officiating. Burial will follow in the Greenwood Cemetery. The family will receive friends after 12noon Tuesday at the Funeral Home.
