Betty J. Crabtree, age 64, of Revelo, Kentucky, passed from this life on Sunday, June 25, 2017, at the Lake Cumberland Regional Hospital.

She was born in Indianapolis, Indiana, on March 4, 1953, to the late Dorothy Wallace.  Besides her mother, she is preceded in death by her dad Walter Murphy and a brother, Walter Sydney Murphy, Jr.

Surviving family include her husband of 47 years, Charles David “Dave” Crabtree, of Revelo, a son, Robert David Crabtree of Bardstown, Kentucky, and daughter, Dee Dee Haycraft (husband Aaron) also of Bardstown. a sister Debra Lee Murphy of Galveston, Texas, grandchildren: Megan, Alexis, Tyler and Kaylee Haycraft, Kasey (and Chris) Brown, and Maria Crabtree.  She has one great grandchild on the way.  She has numerous nieces and nephews, aunts, uncles and in-laws as well as many special friends to mourn her loss.  The family extends a special thank you to Carolyn Burton for her help during this trying time.

Betty was a nurse and supervisor at Somerwoods Nursing and Rehab in Somerset, Kentucky, where she was loved by many and feared by few (lol).   She and Dave took great pleasure in raising miniature goats.  Their greatest passion is spending time with their grandchildren.  Betty enjoyed embroidering, crocheting, crafts, gardening and canning.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday, June 28, 2017, at 8:00 p.m., in the chapel of McCreary County Funeral Home with Bro. Larry Fults and Bro. Billy Patrick officiating.  Visitation will be Wednesday from 6:00 p.m. until time for services.   In accordance with her wishes, she will be cremated.

The family suggests that contributions be made to the American Cancer Society in lieu of flowers.
