Bro. Dow William Goodin

Bro. Dow William Goodin, age 80 years, of Parkers Lake, Kentucky died Tuesday, May 3, 2022 at his Home.

He was born in Honeybee, Kentucky on December 21, 1941 the son of Willis P. and Linda Evelyn (Ridner) Goodin.  Dow had retired from the McCreary County School System as a bus driver and was elected as District 1 Magistrate serving 12 years. He was currently Pastor of Greenwood Missionary Baptist Church, but had previous pastored Sawyer Chapel, Morris Chapel, Rock Branch, Antioch Missionary Baptist Churches, he was a former member of the Greenwood Masonic Lodge #903 and former Chaplain of the Eagle-Sawyer Fire Department.

His parents; wife, Ester Ellen (Spradlin) Goodin; brothers, Claude Goodin, Willis Goodin, Jr., and Roy Goodin; sisters, Dorothy Ridner, Elsie Mae Goodin, Irene Ross, Ella Mae Goodin, and Janie Hurd; and a great grandchild, Riley “Brett” Patrick precede him in death.

Survivors include his children, Jonathan Goodin (Mable) of Whitley City, Kentucky, Delbert Goodin (Sherry) of Stearns, Kentucky, Pamela Goodin (Raymond Clark) of Stearns, Kentucky, Greg Goodin (Donna) of Parkers Lake, Kentucky, Sebrina Campbell (Wayne) of Parkers Lake, Kentucky; and Dow Jr. Goodin of Parker's Lake, Kentucky; brothers, Howard Goodin (Joyce) of Parkers Lake, Kentucky and Kenny Goodin (Geneva) of Whitley City, Kentucky; sisters, Carolyn Coleman of Burnside, Kentucky and Linda Sue Vanover of Pine Knot, Kentucky; grandchildren, Paul Sharon, Teresa Mitchell, Pamela Taylor, Susan Penington, Paula Sharon, Paul Davis, Adam Davis, Tiffany Goodin, David Hastings, Estel Swain, Bobby Bryant, Shane Bryant, Kandra Bryant, Darah Troxell, Josh Goodin, Craig Goodin, Lindsey Goodin, Keshia Patrick, and Katalyn Mercer; and 29 great grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held 11am Friday, May 6, 2022 at the McCreary County Funeral Home with Bro. Bob Goodin, Bro. Ray Sumner, and Bro Jody Goodin officiating. Burial will follow in the Marlar Cemetery. The family will receive friends after 6pm Thursday, May 5, 2022 at the Funeral Home.
