Bronnie Joe Jones

Bronnie Joe Jones, age 77 years, of Monticello, Kentucky died Tuesday, March 31, 2026 at the Lake Cumberland Regional Hospital in Somerset, Kentucky.

He was born in Slavans, Kentucky on March 29, 1949 the son of the late Rease and Emma (Phillips) Jones. Bronnie worked as a Shuttle Car Driver in the Coal Mines, was a member of the Hickory Knob United Baptist Church and a 33rd Degree Mason in Dayton, Ohio. His greatest enjoyment in life was fishing.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his brothers, Darrell Jones, Raymond Jones, and Lonnie Jones; and sisters, Ina Matthews, Alma Lee Jones, Addie Watson, Eva Maxwell, and Netty Thomas.

Survivors include his wife, Lena R (Shoopman) Jones of Monticello, Kentucky; sons, Billy Jones (Brittany Bethel and her son, Avery) of Monticello, Kentucky and Ricky Jones and wife, Melissa of Richmond, Kentucky; brothers, Leamon Jones of Pine Knot, Kentucky, Doyle Jones of Stearns, Kentucky, Gary Jones of Stearns, Kentucky, and Denzil Jones of Monticello, Kentucky; sisters, Lena Whittington of Nashville, Tennessee, Linda Mullins, of Nashville, Tennessee and Allene Branscum of Monticello, Kentucky; grandchildren, Brandon Jones, Breanna Kimbler, Michael Jones, and Reese Jones; and great grandchildren, Hudson and Hank Kimbler, Jordi Jones, and Kinsley Jones.

Funeral services will be held 1pm Saturday, April 4, 2026 at the McCreary County Funeral Home with Bro. Daniel Duncan officiating. Burial will follow in the Phillips Cemetery. The family will receive friends after 11am Saturday at the Funeral Home.
