Bruce “Frosty” Wayne Stephens, age 77 years, of Pine Knot, Kentucky passed away on May 11, 2026 surrounded by his family, leaving behind a lifetime of memories, laughter, and love that will forever live in the hearts of those who knew him.

He was born in McCreary County, Kentucky on May 3, 1949 the son of the late Elbert and Ida Geneva (King) Stephens. Bruce was a hardworking man with a larger-than- life personality, who never met a stranger. Known for his generous heart, he would give you the shirt off his back without hesitation. He believed in working hard, helping others, and loving his family and friends.

Bruce spent much of his life behind the wheel, driving 18 wheelers and dump trucks with pride and dedication. He was happiest outdoors, especially on his farm caring for his cattle and horse. Farm life wasn’t just something he enjoyed it was part of who he was. Whether working the land, caring for animals, or simply enjoying the peace of the countryside, Bruce found joy in the simple thing’s life had to offer.

Above all, Bruce will be remembered for the way he made people feel, his humor, strength, kindness, and unforgettable presence left an impression on everyone fortunate enough to know him.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his brothers, Ronald Stephens and Melvin Stephens; and sisters, Barbara Littrell, Katherine Johnson, and Frances Burk.

He leaves behind his loving family, his children, Sharon Neal and husband, Dale of Oneida, Tennessee, Stacey Stephens of Pine Knot, Kentucky, and Kasey Stephens of Whitley City, Kentucky; brothers, Joe Stephens and wife, Lynn of Pine Knot, Kentucky and Tim Stephens and wife, Peggy of South Carolina; grandchildren, Dallen Neal and wife, Tasha of Oneida, Tennessee, Kayla Foust and husband, Titus of Oneida, Tennessee, Morgan Shelton and fiancé, Seth Hembree of Berea, Kentucky, and Sarah Shelton of Pine Knot, Kentucky; great grandchildren, Clay Neal, Tate Neal, and Baby Foust on the way; a special nephew who he thought of as a son, Jack Johnson and wife, Sandi; special friend who he thought of as a son, Eric Morrow and wife Tammy Jackson Morrow; along with many friends and loved ones who will miss him deeply.

Funeral services will be held 6pm Wednesday, May 13, 2026 at the McCreary County Funeral Home with Bro. Dallen Neal officiating. Burial will follow in the Stephens Family Cemetery. The family will receive friends after 4pm Wednesday at the Funeral Home.
