Charles "Charlie" Edward Strunk

Charles “Charlie” Edward Strunk, age 81 years, of Stearns, Kentucky died Monday, July 28, 2025 at his home.

He was born in McCreary County, Kentucky on April 9, 1944 the son of the late John Riley and Nannie (Coffey) Strunk. Charlie had worked at Larry’s Mini Mart for 52 years, enjoyed watching NASCAR, Kentucky Basketball, spending time with family, and had served in the US Army.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his brothers, Dewitt Strunk, Woodrow Strunk, Grover Strunk, Hobert Strunk, Eugene Strunk, Troy Strunk, and Estill Strunk; a sister, Sally Watson; great granddaughter, Amari Durham; and a special friend, Larry Sumner.

Survivors include his wife, Hazel (Coffey) Strunk of Stearns, Kentucky; son, David Strunk (Casey) of Whitley City, Kentucky; daughter, Brenda Durham (Vince) of Science Hill, Kentucky; special niece and nephew, Savannah and Jesse; several grandchildren, and great grandchildren; brother, Johnny Strunk of Whitley City, Kentucky; sisters, Karen Strunk (Rocky) of Stearns, Kentucky and Bronical Howard (Cecil) of Whitley City, Kentucky; and special friends, Mike “Barney” Barnett, Crawford Tucker, Tony Crowley, Homer Sumner, and Mark Sumner.

Funeral services will be held 2pm Friday, August 1, 2025 at the McCreary County Funeral Home with Bro. David Clark officiating. Burial will follow in the Corder Cemetery. The family will receive after 6pm Thursday, July 31, 2025 at the Funeral Home.
