CHESTER BALL

September 29, 1927 — January 9, 2018

Chester Ball passed into eternal life on Tuesday, January 09, 2018, at the Baptist Health Regional Hospital in Corbin, Kentucky.  He had attained the age of 90 years, three months and 11 days.

He was born on September 29, 1927, in Duck Run, Kentucky, to the late John and Flora (Murphy) Ball.  Besides his parents, he is preceded in death by his wife, Pauline Cox Ball, two sons: Wayne Ball and Leslie Ball, Sr., a grandchild, Chester Scott White, a brother: Leslie Ball and three sisters: Ruth Jones, Dessie Strunk and Ione Roberts.

Surviving family include three children: Lonnie (and Roxie) Ball of Stearns, Roger E. Ball of Winfield, Tennessee, and Mary L. White of Stearns.  He has one sister, Norma Jean Crabtree of Stearns, nine grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren.

Chester had worked as a logger and had attended the East Appletree Baptist Church.  He enjoyed hunting, fishing and pending time at his cabin in the country.  He was called papaw by all that knew and loved him.

Funeral services: Thursday, January 11, 2018, at 11:00 a.m. in the chapel of McCreary County Funeral Home with Bro. Tim Corder officiating. 

Burial:  Chester Ball Family Cemetery, New Liberty, Kentucky

Visitation: Wednesday, January 10, 2018, from 6:00 p.m. – 9:00 p.m.

McCreary County Funeral Home entrusted with arrangements.
