Chester Earl Taylor, age 52, of Whitley City, Kentucky, passed away Wednesday, May 20, 2015, at the Lake Cumberland Regional Hospital in Somerset, Kentucky.
Chester was born December 7, 1962, in Jellico, Tennessee, to the late Albert and Zola (Bryant) Taylor. Besides his parents, he is preceded in death by a sister Margie King.
Surviving family include his two sons; Daniel Taylor (and wife Sasha) of Whitley City and Shane Taylor of Whitley City and long-time companion Heather Moore of Whitley City.
He has five surviving sisters; Ruth Faye Ridner (and Hurstle) of Whitley City, Ruby A. Bryant (and Claude) of Whitley City, Lena Jones (and Wendell) of Stearns, Wanda Jones (and Ardell) of Stearns, and Phyllis Dobbs (and Wayne) of Whitley City, two brothers; Roger Taylor (and Shirley) of Whitley City and Lester Taylor (and Ruby) also of Whitley City. He has three grandchildren; Jaxson Taylor, Ayden Taylor and Benson Taylor. He also has several nieces and nephews (one niece deceased).
Chester was a block layer by trade and member of the Upper Marsh Creek Baptist Church. He enjoyed horseback riding and being around his horses and was so proud of his newly born colt “Little Ghost”.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, May 23, 2015, at 1:00 p.m. in the chapel of McCreary County Funeral Home with Rev. Harold Sexton and Rev. Billy Duncan officiating. Burial will be at the Old Pigeon Cemetery. Visitation will be Friday from 6:00 – 9:00 p.m.
