Clayton Scott Coffey

Clayton Scott Coffey, age 54 years, died Tuesday, August 22, 2023 in his hometown of Anderson, Indiana.

He was born in Anderson, Indiana on November 29, 1968 the son of Thurston and Sue (Gibson) Coffey. Clayton was a member of the Lower Wolf Creek United Baptist Church.

He was a roofer by trade but was a jack of all trades.  He could do anything he set his mind to.  He enjoyed hunting and fishing and the Indianapolis Colts.  He loved spending time with his family.

His father; grandparents, Minnie and Henry Coffey and Lola and Willie Gibson; uncles and aunts, Bill Gibson, Louise Ferguson, Norma Jean Haller, Irene Foster, Donald Gibson, Sally Ruth Oglesby, and Lowell Coffey precede him in death.

Survivors include his mother, Sue Coffey of Anderson, Indiana; wife Candy Coffey of Anderson, Indiana; mother-in-law, Rita Dietz two step-daughters: Angela Finney (Keith) of Anderson, IN, Tammy Linnabary (Ricky) of Oakland, Illinois, and  aunts and uncles, Velma Jean Iannantuono of Tiffin, Ohio, Joe Coffey of Stearns, Kentucky, Alice Coffey of Anderson, Indiana, Doris and Gary Ross of Batavia, Ohio, and Steve and Jean Waters of Stearns, Kentucky, one sister-in-law, Wendy Fannello (John) of Anderson, and three brothers-in-law Randy Purkey (Pam), John Purkey, Jr., James Purkey all of Anderson, Indiana.; step-grandchildren, Paisley, Colton, Olivia, and Mason; and a friend who was like a brother, Billy Scott.

Funeral services will be held 3pm Sunday, August 27, 2023 at the McCreary County Funeral Home with Bro. Carl “Cubby” Clark officiating. Burial to follow in the Corder Cemetery. The family will receive friends after 1pm Sunday at the Funeral Home.
