Dale Shook

Dale Shook, age 68 years, of Stearns, Kentucky died Friday, October 24, 2025 at the Tennova North Knoxville Medical Center in Powell, Tennessee.

He was born in Jellico, Tennessee on April 14, 1957 the son of Sylvester and Goldie (Gregory) Shook. Dale had worked as a Timber Cutter and was a member of the Mt. View Baptist Church, he enjoyed hunting, fishing, but especially his family.

In addition to his parents, he is also preceded in death by his brothers, Edward Shook (Orene), William “Bill” Shook, Jim Shook (Kathern), and Wayne Shook; and sisters, Shelby Jean King (Denver), Iva Sue Jones (Ervin), Hazel Troxell (Jesse), and Ellen Coffey.

Survivors include his children, Mary Amanda Tucker of Winfield, Tennessee, Sarah Kate King (Daniel) of Pine Knot, Kentucky, and Travis Dale Shook (Samantha) of Stearns, Kentucky; brother, Bruce Shook (Joan) of Monticello, Kentucky; grandchildren, Sierra (Colby), Josie (Logan), Chloe, Katie, Lily (Johnny), Audrie, Noah, Bella, Eli, Abbie, and Jonah; great grandchildren, Korbyn, Kennedy, Austin, Haisley, and Hagen; sisters-in-law, Jean Shook and Roxanne Shook; brother-in-law, Phillip Coffey; and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Funeral services will be held 1pm Tuesday, October 28, 2025 at the McCreary County Funeral Home with Bro. Roger Troxell and Bro. Jason Shook officiating. Buril will follow in the Shook Family Cemetery. The family will receive friends after 11am Tuesday at the Funeral Home.
