Dean Tucker, age 78 years, of the Day Ridge Community died Friday, September 26, 2025 at his home.

He was born in Somerset, Kentucky on December 17, 1946 the son of the late Albert and Dorothy (New) Tucker. Dean had done foundry work and was a member of the Day Ridge United Baptist Church. Sitting on the porch and being outdoors were his favorite past times.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his brothers, Alvin Tucker, Lester Tucker, and Kenneth Tucker; and sisters, Shirley Ann Sexton and Cherry Lynn Tucker.

Survivors include his wife, Shirley M. (Draughn) Tucker of Whitley City, Kentucky; children, Terry Tucker (Nenia) of Whitley City, Kentucky; Tammy Brooks (David) of Pleasant Plain, Ohio; and Rodney Tucker (Mary Ann) of Parkers Lake, Kentucky; brothers, Gary Tucker and Mickey Tucker both of Whitley City, Kentucky; sisters, Cleda Howard of Jefferson, Georgia; grandchildren, Philip, Jesse, Ryver, Josh, Jeremy, Aaron, and Jessica; and great grandchildren, Daryl, Rodney, Brandon, Aria, Cora, and 1 on the way.

Visitation will be held 11am-1pm Monday, September 29, 2025 at the McCreary County Funeral Home. Graveside services will follow at the Strunk Cemetery.
