Delmus Watson

Delmus Watson, age 92, of Whitley City, Kentucky, passed away at Thomson Hood Veterans Center in Wilmore, Kentucky, on August 19, 2026.

He was born on December 9, 1933 in Shoopman, Kentucky, to the late George Cephas and Erma (Ross) Watson.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his wife; Emma Ruth Massengale Watson, and two brothers; William Alfred Watson and Bud Watson.

Delmus is survived by his three daughters; Erma Sue Watson of Douglasville, GA., Patricia Kay Watson of Lexington, KY., and Dana Jo Watson of Bronston, KY.

He was employed by General Motors battery plant, and served his country in the United Stats Army. Delmus was a member of Lower Hickory Grove Baptist Church, he enjoyed hunting, spending time outdoors and watching Kentucky Basketball, attending church and reading his bible. He was a York Rite Mason member for over 50 years and served as Masonic Grand Master of Orie S. Ware Lodge #874.

A Masonic Service is scheduled for 11:00 AM on Saturday, August 22, 2026, funeral services will follow. Burial is at King Cemetery in Stearns, (Bald Knob Community), KY.

In lieu of flowers, the family has requested that donations be made to the Thomson Hood Veterans Center in Wilmore, Kentucky.  Make check payable to The Vererans Program Trust, and mail to 100 Veterans Drive, Wilmore, KY 40390.
