Dennis Roy Hale

Dennis “Roy” Hale, Age 78, husband of Marie Cox Hale of Whitley City, KY., passed away April 25, 2022 at his residence.

He was born September 18, 1943, the son of the late Edward and Effie Taylor Morris.  Roy was very proud to be retired after 22 years serving our Country from the US Navy with the Rank of Senior Chief Petty Officer. He enjoyed spending time with his loving wife, children, grandchildren and friends.  He was of the Baptist faith, a member of VFW, and the American Legion, he enjoyed reading, Reds baseball, Cincinnati Bengals football and talking about his days in the Navy.

In addition to his parents, he is also preceded in death by his brother Ray Hale; brothers-in-law, Gary Howard and Dale Blanton.

Survivors include his wife Marie of 29 years; his sons, Sean Michael Hale and companion Kimberly Barnett of Somerset, KY., Wayne and wife Tracey Lay of Jacksboro, TN., Jerry Lay of Whitley City and Tyler Lay also of Whitley City; daughters, Kimberly Lawson and Hallie Lay of Whitley City; brother, Daryl and wife Denise Morris of Maineville, OH.; sisters, Jean and husband Tom Isacson of Maineville, OH., Sue Howard of Loveland, OH., and Phyllis Blanton also of Ohio; sisters-in-law, Betty and husband Loyd Stephens of Helewood, TN., Barbara and husband Bob Meadows of Strunk, KY., Phyllis Myers of Strunk, KY., Mary Hale, Lewisville, TX.; brother-in-law, Virgil and wife Paulette Cox of Somerset; grandchildren, Ashlynn Jones and companion Jacob Lambert, Nicholas Hale, Conner Lawson, Bentlee Lay and Jace Sexton.

Visitation is Friday from 10:30 am until funeral service at 12:30 pm in the chapel of McCreary County Funeral Home with Brother Tom Corder and Terry Myers officiating.  Full Military Honors will be conducted at Mill Springs National Cemetery following the funeral service.
