DENNIS MORGAN YANCEY

June 7, 1951 — August 27, 2017

Dennis Morgan “Pig” Yancey, of Stearns, Kentucky, passed from this life on August 27, 2017, at the Laurel Heights Nursing Home in London, Kentucky.  He had attained the age of 66 years, two months and 20 days.

He was born in Oneida, Tennessee, on June 7, 1951, to the late Paul Vernon and Printy (Jeffers) Yancey.  Besides his parents, he is preceded in death by brothers: Paul Yancey, Jr., Alonzo Yancey, Johnny Harold Yancey and Vernon Lee Yancey, and a sister: Dorothy Mae Yancey.

Surviving family include his wife, Gladys (King) Yancey of Stearns, a daughter: Cynthia Denise King of Stearns and step daughters, Pam Lynch (husband Gale) of Whitley City and Kimberly Strunk (husband Joe) of Stearns, a brother: Kenneth Yancey of Revelo, three sisters: Betty Ann Yancey of Pine Knot, Geneva M. Yancey, Stearns, Martha Ann Witzell, Georgia, a grandson: Gabriel King, step grandchildren: Joseph Strunk, Brittany Vaughn, Jessica Perry and Jordan Lynch, and step great grandchildren: Ethan Edward Swain and Samuel Grayson Perry.

Dennis had been a coal miner and had attended  the Revelo Church of God.  He had served in the United States Air Force and was a Disabled American Veteran.  He was a member of the American Legion.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday, August 30, 2017, at 1:00 p.m. in the chapel of McCreary County Funeral Home with Bro. Leslie Gilreath officiating.  Burial to follow at the King Cemetery with Kinne Slaven Post 115 of the American Legion providing honors.

Visitation Tuesday from 6:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. at the funeral home.

McCreary County Funeral Home entrusted with arrangements.
