Dewey Darrell Strunk

Dewey Darrell Strunk age 70 of Whitley City, Kentucky, husband of Mary Lou (Cassada) Strunk, passed from this life on Friday, February 23, 2018 at his home.

He was born December 11, 1947 in Whitley City, Kentucky to the late, Caleb and Sadie (Perry) Strunk. Dewey was of the Baptist faith and had made his living as a Mechanic. He was a Veteran of the United States Army and a member of the VFW and American Legion Post 115. Dewey was an outdoorsman who enjoyed hunting and fishing, but above all things, he enjoyed spending time with his family, especially his grandbabies.

Preceding him in death are his parents, brothers, Ronnie, Harold, and Clayton Strunk, a sister, Fontella Vanover, and a brother in law, Bennie Price.

Surviving family include his wife, Mary Lou Strunk of Whitley City; sons, Dennis Strunk and wife, Aimee, of Cincinnati, Ohio and Douglas Strunk and wife, Becky, of Blue Ash, Ohio; a daughter, Amanda Morrow and husband, Josh, of Whitley City; brothers, Wendell Strunk and wife, Phyllis, of Westchester, Ohio and Donald Strunk and wife, Myrtle, of Whitley City; sisters, Phyllis Price of Westchester, and Brenda Whisman and husband, Gary, of Cincinnati; grandchildren, Caleb Strunk, Clayton Strunk, Lucas Morrow, Anthony Brinegar, and Lexi Brinegar; and a great-granddaughter, Kenna Marie Brinegar.

Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, February 27, 2018 at 1:00 pm in the chapel of McCreary County Funeral Home. Burial is to follow in the Strunk Family Cemetery with full Military Honors. The family will receive friends on Monday from 6:00 until 9:00 pm at the funeral home.
