Dora Dean Bennett

September 13, 1932 — December 2, 2016

Dora Dean Bennett was born in Sawyer, Kentucky, on September 13, 1932, the daughter of Cornelius and Bertha (Barnett) Rollins.

She died December 2, 2016, at her home in Parkers Lake, Kentucky, being 84 years, two months and 19 days old.

She had worked in housekeeping at the Cumberland Falls State Resort Park and was a member of the Eagle Creek United Baptist Church. 

Her parents; husband, Ozas Bennett; son, Rick Bennett, brother, Ernest Pless Barnett, two sisters: Wilma J. Brooks and Ella Mae Warman and two granddaughters precede her in death.

Survivors include her sons: Ronnie Bennett, Russell Bennett, Roger Bennett (wife Wilma), Ronald Bennett (wife Reda) and Carlie Bennett (wife Odie); daughter, Patricia Ross (husband Lee); brother, Eric Clayton Barnett (wife Joyce); sister, Retha Foreman; 23 grandchildren and 42 great grandchildren.

Dora will be missed by all who knew and loved her; but we know that our loss is her gain.

Funeral services will be conducted Monday, December 5, 2016, at 2pm in the Eagle Creek United Baptist Church.  Burial will follow at the Eagle Creek Cemetery.  The family will receive friends after 6pm Sunday at the McCreary County Funeral Home.
