Dora Wilma Welchel

Dora Wilma Welchel, age 92 years, of Parkers Lake, Kentucky died Tuesday, April 29, 2025 at the Ephraim McDowell Hospital in Danville, Kentucky.

She was born in Parkers Lake, Kentucky the daughter of the late Lewis and Stella (Clark) Price. Dora had been a machine operator at the Shirt Factory and a member of the Pleasant Knob United Baptist Church where she had served as a church clerk for many years. She was a devoted Child of God and had done a radio program on WHAY called “Simple Truth Bible Study.”

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husbands, Thomas Welchel and Donald Welchel; and siblings, Anna Jones, Fannie Renfro, Edwin Price, Luther Price, Alma Weaver, Esther Price, and Mickey Price.

Survivors include numerous nieces and nephews, including, Austin Price, Faye and Paul Perry, Jeffrey Price, Luther W. Price, and Debbie Taylor.

Funeral services will be held 2pm Monday, May 5, 2025 at the McCreary County Funeral Home with Bro. Daniel Perry officiating. Burial to follow in the Pleasant Knob Cemetery. The family will receive friends after 12pm Monday at the Funeral Home.
