Earl Stephens Jr.

Mr. Earl Stephens, Jr. “Taterbug”, passed away Friday, February 19, 2016, at his home in Revelo, Kentucky.  He had attained the age of 72 years, four months and 28 days.

Taterbug was born on September 27, 1943, to the late Earl and Rubie (Bryant) Stephens.  He is preceded in death by his parents, a daughter Sheila Renee Stephens, two brothers: Estle Stephens and Melvin Stephens and a sister Ann Stephens.

Surviving family include his wife Sarah J. Stephens of Revelo, two daughters: Lisa Stephens (and Chester Barnett) of Moreland, Kentucky and Kimberly Martin of Lula, Georgia, nine brothers: Mitchel Stephens, Henry Stephens, Curtis Stephens, Lester Stephens, Johnny Stephens, Darrell Stephens, Darris Stephens, Eddie Stephens and Jackie Stephens, two sisters: Edna Stephens and Rosie Meese.  He has five grandchildren: Rebecca, Tracy, Bobby, Shane, and Daniel and 11 great grandchildren.

Taterbug was a self-employed construction worker, a maintenance man for the School System and a member of the Stearns First Baptist Church.  He enjoyed working on lawn mowers and other machinery.

Funeral services: 2:00 p.m. Sunday, February 21, 2016, in the chapel of McCreary County Funeral Home with Bro. Roger Bryant officiating.

Burial:  Pine Knot Cemetery

Visitation:  Sunday from 12:00 noon until 2:00 p.m.
