Ellen Goodin

Ester Ellen Goodin, age 76 years, of Parkers Lake, Kentucky died Saturday, October 30, 2021 at her home.
She was born in Sawyer, Kentucky on August 9, 1945 the daughter of the late Lawrence and Lettie (Perry) Spradlin. Ellen was the owner of Goodin’s Discount, a member of the Greenwood Missionary Baptist Church. She enjoyed going to church, singing gospel music, and spending time with her family and friends.
Her parents; two children she raised as her own, Ella Mae Goodin and Roy Goodin; siblings, Donald “Buddy” Perry, Lee Spradlin, Ray Spradlin, and Willa Mae Perry; great grandson, Riley “Brett” Patrick precede her in death.
Survivors include her husband of 59 years, Bro. Dow W. Goodin; children, Jonathan Goodin (Mable) of Whitley City, Delbert Goodin (Sherry) of Stearns, Pamela Bryant (Raymond Clark) of Stearns, Greg Goodin (Donna) of Parkers Lake, Sebrina Campbell (Wayne) of Parkers Lake, and Dow Jr. Goodin of Monticello; grandchildren; Paula Sharon, Teresa Mitchell, Pamela Taylor, Susan Mink, Paul Allen Sharon, Joshua Miller, Paul Davis, Adam Davis, Tiffany Goodin, David Hastings, Estel Swain, Bobby Bryant, Shane Bryant, Kandra Bryant, Darah Troxell, Josh Goodin, Craig Goodin, Lindsey Goodin, Keshia Patrick, and Katalyn Mercer; 28 great grandchildren and 1 on the way; sister, Mila Sue Smith of Sawyer; and children whom Ellen and Dow raised, Carolyn Coleman, Daisy Loudermilk, and Linda Vanover.
Funeral services will be held 1pm Wednesday, November 3, 2021 at the McCreary County Funeral Home with Bro. Bob Goodin and Bro. Ray Sumner officiating. Burial will follow in the Marlar Cemetery. The family will receive friends after 6pm Tuesday, November 2, 2021 at the Funeral Home.
