Elmer "Shorty" Edwin Clark

April 30, 1940 — June 8, 2021

Elmer E. “Shorty” Clark, age 81 years, of the Sandhill Community, died Tuesday, June 8, 2021 at his home.

He was born in Whitley City, Kentucky on April 30, 1940 the son of Luther Clark and Gladys Pauline (Sumner) Clark.  Elmer had worked as a truck driver and was a Deacon of the Taylor Ridge United Baptist Church.

His parents; daughter-in-law, Nancy Clark; brother-in-law, Lonnie Meadows; and grandchildren, Stacy Clark and Amy Combs precede him in death.

Survivors include his wife, Glenna L. (Canada) Clark; children, Larry Clark (Sandra), Gary Clark, Ricky Clark (Judy) all of Whitley City, and Shirley Gregory (David) of Somerset; brother, Alfred Clark (Bobbie) of Whitley City; sister, Linda Meadows of Whitley City; grandchildren, Jennifer Hamlin, Lindsey Ball, Barbara Jean (BJ) Bryant, Jamie Clark, Heather Clark, Lucas Gregory, and Sarah Creekmore; 16 great grandchildren, and 5 great-great grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held 1pm Friday, June 11, 2021 at the McCreary County Funeral Home with Bro. Hobert Corder and Bro. Alan Coffey officiating.  Burial to follow in the Taylor Ridge Cemetery.  The family will receive friends after 6pm Thursday, June 10, 2021 at the Funeral Home.
