Ernest D. Wilson

Ernest D. Wilson, age 80 years, of Pine Knot, Kentucky died Wednesday, March 13, 2024 at his home.

He was born in Somerset, Kentucky on April 29, 1943 the son of the late Rev. Cal and Haley J. (Godsey) Wilson. Ernie had worked as a carpet layer, enjoyed being outdoors, hunting, fishing, camping, and playing music.

His parents; son, Ernest Wilson; daughter, Donna Wilson; brother, Earl Wilson; an infant brother; sisters, Nellie Troxell and Stella Murphy; and an infant sister precede him in death.

Survivors include his son, Ryan Wilson of Pine Knot, Kentucky; daughters, Deana Ditchely, Dana Wilson, and Rachel Hardman all of Indianapolis, Indiana; brother, Rayford Wilson of Stearns, Kentucky; nephew, Craig Wilson of Pine Knot; a grandson whom he thought of as a son, Eddie Wilson of Indianapolis, Indiana; grandchildren, Brenden, Trenten, Alli, Damian, Deanna, Amber, Eddie, Tabitha, Katlynn, AJ, Bailey, and Katherine; and numerous great grandchildren.

Visitation will be held 12-1pm Friday, March 15, 2024 at the McCreary County Funeral Home.  Cremation will follow.
