Rachel Keith Wilson, age 89, of Whitley City, Kentucky died Thursday, April 9, 2026 at the Big Southfork Medical Center in Oneida, Tennessee.

Rachel was born April 20, 1936 in Straight Creek (Parkers Lake), KY., to the late Rev. Charles W. (Charlie) Keith and Evelyn (Owens) Keith, she was clerk at the Burgess Drug Store for almost 40 years.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her first husband, Loren Mason of 25 years, also preceding her is “Cleo” James Wilson. Sisters; Pauline Sumner and her husband Bob, and Betty New. Her Brother-in-law James L. Six, Nephews; Alan Keith (Adrain), Terry Mason, Doug Mason, David Mason.

She is survived by her sister, Anna K. Six of Whitley City, Ky; brother, Clifford/ Linda Keith of Stearns, KY., Nieces and Nephews; Cindy New (Wayne), Teresa Brown (Larry), Bobby Mason Bell, Mona Mason, Rachel Mason Dixon, Dennis Keith (Kara), Noel Keith (Amy), Bobby Sumner, and Jimmy Mason. A host of great nieces and great nephews. Many special cousins and friends.

Rachel was a Christian. She loved the Lord which was obvious. Her Christian walk kept a smile on her face and desire to serve the Lord. She always had a song on her mind and heart. She joined Flat Rock Missionary Baptist Church as a teenager. She taught Vacation Bible School in several Baptist Churches under the Leadership of the Missionary for McCreary County Baptist Association. She was recognized at the Association that year. She was a Vacation Bible School director for several years. She led the congregation in songs for 40 years including the Sunday before she died. She loved to sing. She would sing at home.

Her heart was in Mission. She was WMU leader. The woman participated in Mission Projects. Racheal went to Russia as a Missionary for 12 Days. Her testimony is Inspiring. In her final days she wrote; We must go; We must do; We must share God’s word to everyone, everywhere.

We are blessed that we can Follow the Great Commission.

Funeral services for Rachel Wilson will be 2pm Monday, April 13, 2026 in the Chapel of McCreary County Funeral Home, officiating is Brother Danny Staley with visitation beginning at 12:00 pm and burial to follow in Nevelsville Cemetery.

McCreary County Funeral Home is entrusted with the arrangements of Rachel Wilson.
