FRED PERRY

July 28, 1942 — August 4, 2017

Fred Perry, age 75, of Whitley City, Kentucky, passed from this life on Friday, August 4, 2017, at the Hicks Golden Years Nursing Home in Monticello, Kentucky.

He was born in McCreary County, Kentucky, on July 28, 1942, the son of the late Curtis and Virgie Leona (Canada) Perry.  Besides his parents, he is preceded in death by brothers: Ronnie Perry, Ralph Perry, and an infant brother, Kenneth Perry, sisters: Grace Rollins, Anna ou Strunk, Reba Vanover, Bonnie Sue Perry, Betty Wears, Brenda Kay Royster, Freda Terell, and an infant sister, brothers-in-law: Gene Rollins, Harold Strunk, and a sister-in-law, Maxine Perry.

Surviving family include a daughter, Shirley Petrey  (husband Mark), a son, Randall Perry (wife Janice), mother of his children, Joyce Perry, a sister, Beatrice Spradlin (husband Archie), a brother Donald Wayne Perry (wife Diadena), three brothers-in-law: Bob Vanover, Kenneth Perry, and Kenny Wears, 10 grandchildren, 14 great grandchildren and sever nieces and nephews that will sadly miss him.

Fred had worked in the log woods and was a farmer.  He was a member of the Pleasant Knob United Baptist Church.  He was a hard-working man who loved farming and his farm animals.  He also enjoyed hunting and fishing.

Funeral services will be held Sunday, August 6, 2017, at 3:00 p.m., at the Pleasant Knob Baptist Church with Bro. Harold Rollins and Bro. Daniel Perry officiating.  Burial will follow at the Higginbotham Cemetery.  The family will receive friends after 12:00 noon on Sunday at the church.
