Gene J. Strunk

Gene J. Strunk age 85 years, of Marshes Siding, Kentucky died Friday May 16, 2025 at his daughter’s home in Richmond, Kentucky.

He was born in Parkers Lake, Kentucky on October 30, 1939 the son of the late Smith Morris and Gladys Opal (Lynch) Strunk. Gene had been a supervisor for Cincinnati Dry Wall and a deacon of the Marshes Siding Church of God. He was always active by being with the Arby’s Gang, fishing, gardening, beekeeping, hunting, working puzzles, but his church and family were his greatest enjoyments in life.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his wife Barbara Sue (Marcum) Strunk; brothers, Chester Strunk, JT Strunk and Roger Strunk; and sisters, Wilma Taylor, Doris Roark, Flora Jean Strunk and Fay Tella Barnett.

Survivors include his daughters, Kimberly Strunk of Richmond, Kentucky and Angela Wireman (Eric) of Lynchburg, Ohio; sister, Glenna Hester of Amelia, Ohio; grandchildren, Keegan and Aurelia Wireman; and a host of nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held at 2pm Monday, May 19, 2025 at the McCreary County Funeral Home with Bro. Harry Watters officiating. Burial to follow in the Higginbotham Cemetery. The family will receive friends after 12pm Monday at the Funeral Home.
