Gracie Evelyn Sears, age 90 years, of Jellico, Tennessee died Saturday June 1, 2019 at the Tennova Healthcare North Knoxville Medical Center in Knoxville, Tennessee.

She was born in Funston, Kentucky on August 9, 1928 the daughter of Anderson and Loretta (Swain) Taylor. Gracie was a homemaker of the Baptist faith and loved to garden, fish, and to do canning.

She is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Troye Mason Sears; son Ronald Dean Sears; daughters, Evelyn Sue Vanover and Pearlie Mae Clark; and sisters, Bertha Mae Upchurch, Maggie Oldham, Carrie Warman, and Mandy Goodin.

Survivors include her sons, Donald Sears of Jellico and Thurstle Mason Taylor of Parkers Lake; daughters, Mary Ann Duncan and Charlene Edna Lay both of Jellico, Debbie Kay Sears of Somerset, Iva Dean Duncan of Whitley City, and Thelma Lee Keith of London; brother, Abie Taylor if Mt. Victory; 26 grandchildren; and numerous great and great-great grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held Thursday, June 6, 2019 at 1pm at the Mill Creek Methodist Church with Bro. Russell Keith officiating. Burial will follow in the Mill Creek Cemetery. The family will receive friends after 6pm Wednesday, June 5, 2019 at the McCreary County Funeral Home.
