James Sonny Boyatt

James “Sonny” Boyatt departed from this life at the Granger Villa Nursing Home in Granger, Texas on May 2, 2015 being 81 years, 8 months, and 28 days old. He was born in Shoopman, Kentucky, on August 04, 1933 son of the late Jimmy and Lee Etta (Phillips) Boyatt.

He was a member of the Beech Grove Baptist Church. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, boating, and camping. Sonny was an upstanding family man, as long as he was with family he was happy anywhere. He loved spending time with his grandsons and his family making memories.

Along with his parents he is preceded in death by his brothers; William Austin “Bud” Boyatt, Harvey Boyatt, Eugene Boyatt, sisters; Esther King, Lena Wilson, Maggie Heath, Orangie Dolen, Lillie Mae Boyatt, Dovie Ross.

Surviving family includes; his loving and devoted wife of 54 years Violet Boyatt; they were united in marriage June 16, 1960, A daughter; Anita Carol Clouse and husband Richard, of Granger, TX, brother; Ale Junior Boyatt, of Indiana,  two grandchildren; Cameron and Jacob Clouse.

Funeral Services were conducted on Saturday May 9, 2015 at 1:00 in the Chapel of the McCreary County Funeral Home. Officiating Clergy Bro. Pat Coffey and Bro. Jimmy Waters. Burial was in the Lower Hickory Grove Cemetery. McCreary County Funeral Home Entrusted with the arrangements.
