Janice Staley

Janice Earleen Staley, age 81 years,10 months and 7 days, of Whitley City, Kentucky, widow of the late Calvin Staley, passed away on Friday, March 7, 2025 at Baptist Health in Corbin, Kentucky.

She was born in McCreary County, on April 29, 1943. Janice was a receptionist for the McCreary County Health Department. She enjoyed working on her farm, singing, and family get togethers, but her greatest joy was spending time with her family.

Janice is preceded in death by her parents; Linc and Eva Bybee, her husband; Calvin Staley; daughter; Bobbie Jo Stephens; brothers; Bon L. Bybee, Earl Bybee, Rick Bybee, AY Bybee, Royce Bybee and Joe L. Bybee.

Survivors include her daughter; Beverly “Robin” Shelton of Marshes Siding, KY., sons; Larry Shelton and wife Loretta of Burnside, KY., David Shelton of McCreary County, Tim Shelton and wife Mary Beth of PA., brother; Donnie Bybee of IN., grandchildren; Deavon Shelton, Shantale Shelton, Priscilla Shelton, Shay Coffey, Eric Howard, Heather Bowling, DJ Stephens, John, Samantha, Jason, Justin, and Becka, along with numerous great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

She will be sadly missed by all who knew and loved her. Funeral services for Janice will be held Tuesday, March 11, 2025 at 1:00 PM with Brother Josh Stephens officiating, visitation will begin at 11:00 AM until 1:00 PM funeral time. Burial will follow in Keith Morrow Cemetery.
