Listen to Obituary

Jerry W. Lynch, age 71, of Whitley City, Kentucky, departed this life peacefully at his home on July 3, 2026. He was born on January 31, 1955, in Jellico, Tennessee.

Jerry was a man who found happiness in the simple things in life. He was a U.S. Army veteran who loved spending time with his family, being outdoors, squirrel hunting, riding four-wheelers, and tending to his garden. He never needed much to be content; just the people he loved and the beauty of God's creation around him.

In the later years of his life, Jerry found great peace and purpose in his faith. He faithfully attended church, gave his life to the Lord, and was baptized in the waters of Indian Creek, a decision that became one of the most meaningful chapters of his life. His quiet faith and humble spirit left a lasting impression on those who knew him.

While Jerry enjoyed many things throughout his life, nothing compared to the love he had for his granddaughters. They were the light of his world, bringing him endless joy, laughter, and pride. Just as they brightened his days, he will forever remain a shining light in their hearts and memories.

Jerry was preceded in death by his parents, Ruthel and Maggie Lynch; his sisters, Louise Lynch and Virginia Barnett; his brothers, Fletcher Lynch, Stanley Lynch, and Wes Lynch; and his beloved daughter, Erica Dawn Corder.

He leaves behind a loving family who will cherish his memory: his devoted wife of 46 years, Lela Lynch; his daughter, Maggie Corrill and husband Mikey (along with fur-babies Raven, Callie, and Bruce); his son, Justin Lynch and wife Tyla; his grandchildren, Stormy Yancey and husband Kenneth, Austin Corder and wife Tiffany, Harley Corder and wife Ellen, Aubrie Lynch, and Annie Lynch; his great-grandchildren, Callie and Connor Yancey, Desmond, Brennex, Everleigh, and Araybella Corder, and Gabriel and Axel Lucas; along with another great-grandson expected soon, Harrison Corder. He also leaves behind brothers Gary and Eddie Lynch, and sisters Rema Perry, Neat Whittle.

Jerry's legacy is measured by the love he shared, the values he lived by, and the family he treasured above all else. He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him, but his family finds comfort in knowing he is now at peace in the presence of his Savior.

"Well done, good and faithful servant... Enter into the joy of your Lord." - Matthew 25:23
