Jimmy Ray "Buck" Ross

Jimmy Ray “Buck” Ross, age 74 years, of Strunk, Kentucky died Thursday, January 12, 2023 at the Baptist Health Corbin.

He was born in Strunk, Kentucky on February 5, 1948 the son of Starlin and Mae (Hodge) Ross.  Buck had worked as a coal miner and was a member of the Ross Grove United Baptist Church. He enjoyed gardening, riding his gator, watching Fox News, camping, and fishing.

His parents precede him in death.

Survivors include his wife, Jan (Spradlin) Ross of Strunk, Kentucky, whom he married February 19, 1966; son, Jimmy Allen Ross (Tasha) of Strunk, Kentucky; daughters, Misty Hansford (Austin) of Strunk, Kentucky, Christy Coffey (Andrew) of Monticello, Kentucky, and Diana Koger of Georgia; brother, Tommy Ross of Oak Ridge, Tennessee; sister, Sandra Presley of Aurora, Indiana; grandchildren, Caleb Hansford, Madison Hansford, Kaeli Pitman, Andrea Coffey, Bryan Koger, Brittany Smith, and Christopher Hale; and great grandchildren, Wade Foster, Mason Smith, Levi Smith, Luke Koger, Kamryn Hale, and Adley Hale.

Funeral services will be held Monday, January 16, 2023 at 1pm in the McCreary County Funeral Home. Burial will follow in the Ross Grove Cemetery. The family will receive friends after 6pm Sunday, January 15, 2023 at the Funeral Home.
