John "Bill" William Marcum

Marcum, John William “Bill” age 87 of Oak Ridge passed away Tuesday Feb. 24, 2015 at Methodist Medical Center of Oak Ridge. Bill was born March 30, 1927, in Shoopman, Kentucky to the late Claude V. and Marie Baker Marcum. He began his career with General Electric, was with Bell Helicopter in Iran, and retired from ARAMCO in Saudia Arabia. Bill was preceded in death by brother, Kenneth Marcum; sisters, Barbara Souleyrette, Claudette Holliday, and Patricia Marcum. He is survived by sister Shelia Denney of Ohio; special nephew, Mike Souleyrette; special niece, Lecia Moreau; nieces, Donna Mathews, Louann Caldwell, and Claudia Souleyrette; nephews, Kent Marcum, David Denney, Scott Denney, several great nieces and great nephews. The family wishes to express their special thanks to the staff of Canterfield Assisted Living in Oak Ridge, his caregivers Marie Ann Burgess, Vicki Braden, Rachel Pryor, to Comfort Keepers and the Nurses on 5 West of Methodist Medical Center of Oak Ridge. The family will receive friends from 2:00 P.M. to 3:00 P.M. Saturday February 28, 2015, at Rose Mortuary Broadway Chapel with Funeral Services at 3:00 P.M. with Rev. Dale Caldwell officiating. Interment will be conducted at 2:30 P.M. Sunday March 1, 2015, at Stearns Cemetery in Stearns, KY with Military Honors by American Legion Post 115 Honor Guard.
