J.T. Hatfield

March 23, 1934 — November 26, 2019

J.T. Hatfield, age 85 years, of Monticello, Kentucky died Tuesday, November 26, 2019 at the Lake Cumberland Regional Hospital in Somerset, Kentucky.

He was born in Stearns, Kentucky on March 23, 1934 the son of Jason and Louzetta (Hammock) Hatfield. J.T. was a member of the East Appletree Baptist Church but had been attending the First Hickory Grove Baptist Church had worked as a forklift driver for National Distillery in Cincinnati, served his country in the US Navy, and loved hunting and fishing.

His parents; brothers, Herman Hatfield and Royce Hatfield; and sisters, Betty Bell and Gloria Branscum all precede him in death.

Survivors include his wife Sue C. (Roberts) Hatfield of Monticello; daughter, Beth Abney (Wendell) of Blanchester, Ohio; brothers, Gordon Hatfield (Sue) of Pine Knot, Jim Hatfield (Joyce) of Elizabethtown, Roger Hatfield (Martha) of Lawrenceburg, and Robert Hatfield (Karen) of Stearns; sister, Mary Jane Cox of Elizabethtown; grandchildren, Kyle Abney and Kevin Abney; and great grandchildren, Leianna Abney and Nadia Abney.

Funeral services will be held 1pm Saturday, November 30, 2019 at the McCreary County Funeral Home with Bro. Eddie King officiating. Burial will follow in the Lower Cal Hill Cemetery. The family will receive friends after 11am Saturday at the funeral home.
