Julia Bell Tucker, age 93 years, of Whitley City, Kentucky, passed away peacefully at her home on Saturday, February 14, 2026.
Born on November 28, 1932, in Jellico, Tennessee, Julia was the beloved daughter of the late Marshall and Emma (Morgan) Tucker. She was a devoted homemaker and a faithful member of the Flat Rock Missionary Baptist Church. Julia lived a life centered on her faith and her family, finding her greatest joy in caring for those she loved.
Julia had a simple and gentle spirit. She enjoyed working word search and crossword puzzles, sewing for her family, and thrift shopping for special treasures. Yet above all, her heart belonged to her children, grandchildren, and the many great- and great-great-grandchildren who filled her home and life with laughter. Each one held a special place in her heart, and she loved them dearly.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Walter J. Tucker; her sons, Walter Edward “Buck” Tucker, Stanley Tucker, and Tommy Tucker; her brothers, JL Jones, Ed Jones, Ancil Jones, Junior Jones, Archie Jones, and one infant brother; and her sisters, Viola Williams and Velma Hall.
She is lovingly remembered by her children, Linda Sue Lay of Pine Knot, Kentucky; Crawford Tucker (Lisa) of Whitley City, Kentucky; Donna Morgan (Tim) of Marshes Siding, Kentucky; and Sharon Inman (Eddie) of Strunk, Kentucky; her brothers, Lindell Jones of Williamsburg, Kentucky, and James Kenneth Jones of Chicago, Illinois; her sister, Loraine Helton of North Carolina; 19 grandchildren; and numerous great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren who will continue to carry her memory in their hearts.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Thursday, February 19, 2026, at McCreary County Funeral Home with Bro. Danny Staley and Bro. Roger Bryant officiating. Burial will follow in the Carter Cemetery. The family will receive friends after 6:00 p.m. Wednesday, February 18, 2026, at the funeral home.
Julia’s life was a testament to quiet strength, enduring faith, and unwavering love. She leaves behind a legacy of devotion and kindness that will continue to bless her family for generations to come.
