LARISSA DEANNE COX

October 3, 1970 — June 26, 2019

Larissa Deanne Cox, age 48, of Stearns, Kentucky, passed from this life Wednesday, June 26, 2019.

She was born October 3, 1970, in Somerset, Kentucky, the daughter of James Lloyd and Iva Dean (West) Cox.  Besides her parents, she is survived by a son, Kyler Slaven (and Tabitha) of Marshes Siding, Kentucky, two daughters: Karlie Morrow of Stearns, and Kassie Elizabeth Morrow also of Stearns, a brother: Jimmy Cox (and Christie) of Stearns, a sister: Mabra Lynn (and Joey) Tull of Cincinnati, Ohio.  She has three precious grandchildren: Noahlee Grace Slaven, Everlee Scottylynn Slaven and Roman Timothy Clark.

Larissa had been a LPN for 25 years and worked as a travel nurse for Aureus Medical Group Traveling Nursing.  She was a member of the New Haven Baptist Church in Oneida, Tennessee. She had a passion for helping people during her 25 year career as a nurse and that passion took her places others could only dream of.  She lived to love and loved to live.  Among her many talents, she loved primitive crafting, sewing and gardening.  She was a former beauty queen and was the 1988 Miss McCrearyfest.  She was also the first to represent McCreary County at the state level in pageantry.  Her outward beauty was nothing to compare to her inward beauty.  Most importantly to LaRissa was her love for the Lord and her precious grandbabies and family.

Funeral services will be Sunday, June 30, 2019, at 4:00 p.m. at the Pleasant Rock Baptist Church (1559 W. Hwy 92 Stearns, KY 42647) with burial to follow at the Angel Cemetery.  The family will receive friends Sunday at the church beginning at 1:00 p.m.
