Larry Crandell Foster

Larry Crandell Foster, age 86 years, of Pine Knot, Kentucky died Monday, July 20, 2026 at the Jean Waddle Care Center in Somerset, Kentucky.

He was born in Revelo, Kentucky on August 2, 1939 the son of the late William and Flonnie (Ball) Foster. Larry had been a coal miner, drywall hanger and finisher by trade, a car salesman by gift, and a member of the First Otter Creek United Baptist Church. A man of unwavering faith, he lived his life as a humble servant of God. He worked hard in the Coal Mines, built lasting friendships as a car salesman and his local produce stand. He found joy in traveling, classic car shows, mowing the lawn and anything that allowed him to enjoy God's creation. He was a man of integrity, kindness, but he was also a man that believed in honesty and always said what was on his mind. But also allowed faith to guide his every step. His greatest legacy is not only the life he lived, but the example he set and the hope he had in Christ.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his wife of 53 years, Ada Dean (Wells) Foster; brothers, Jack Foster, Bob Foster, Harold Dean Foster, and Gene Foster; sisters, Elouise Ross and Bea Hayes; and a great grandchild, Logan Chitwood.

Survivors include his son, Edward Crandell Foster and wife, Sharon of Whitley City, Kentucky; daughter, Rhonda Foster of Burnside, Kentucky; a special friend that walked the last miles along side him, Nina Neal; brother, Jim Ray Foster of Revelo, Kentucky; sister, Brenda Payne of Revelo, Kentucky; grandchildren, Felicia Chitwood (Shane), CJ Foster (Kalee), Rachel Foster, Rebecca Foster (Frank), Makayla Asher (Dillion), Rostin Foster (Brett), Makenzie Foster (Dalton), Colton Foster (Mileah), Kendra Foster, Larry Foster, and Ada McClure (Billy); 18 great grandchildren; and many more that became family over the years.

Funeral services will be held 2pm Saturday, July 25, 2026 at the McCreary County Funeral Home with Bro. Alan Coffey, Bro. William Clark, and Bro. Bill Clark officiating. Burial will follow in the Corder Cemetery. The family will receive friends after 6pm Friday, July 24, 2026 at the Funeral Home.

As a special request, to honor his life long love for classic cars, the family warmly invites anyone with a car to join the funeral procession.
