LEXIE WRIGHT

Lexie Wright, age 88, of Stearns, Kentucky, passed away Tuesday, January 1, 2019, at the Signature Health Care of McCreary.

She was born at Worley, Kentucky, on February 19, 1930, the daughter of the late Johnny and Clemi Mae (Cordell) Watson.  Besides her parents, she is preceded in death by a sister, Lillie Kidd, three brothers: Bravel Watson, Vincent Watson and Sonny Watson, a son-in-law Jay Vanover, and a great grandchild, James William VanOver II (son of Alex Vanover).

Surviving family include her husband of 59 years, Judson H. Wright of Stearns, five children: Roxanne Shook (husband Wayne) of Stearns, Rebecca Cline (husband C.J.) of Mt. Home, Idaho, Johnie Wright (wife Karen) of Stearns, Rhonda Boyatt of Stearns and Joyce VanOver of Stearns.

There are 11 grandchildren: Dallas, Trevor, April, Tanya, Veronica, Kaylee, Derek. Kesha. A.J., Kasie and Alex.  She was blessed with 18 great grandchildren.

Lexie was a retired cook for the McCreary County Schools and a member of the Revelo Church of God.  She loved cooking and enjoyed taking food to people.  She loved her family and spending time with them.  She liked reading and doing puzzle books.

Funeral services will be held Friday, January 4, 2019, at 1:00 p.m. in the chapel of McCreary County Funeral Home with Bro. Rick Watson officiating.  Burial will follow at the Pine Knot Memorial Gardens.  Visitation will be Thursday, January 3, 2019, from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. at the funeral home.

Sharon just told me today about Lexie. I am so very sorry. I haven't seen her in many years, but she was married to my first cousin and she is family. My heart goes out to all of her children and you are in my prayers.
