Lola Smith

Lola Smith, widow of Lummer Smith , age 100 years, 4 months and 19 days, of Sawyer, Kentucky died Monday, September 28, 2020 at her home surrounded by her love ones.  

She was born on May 11, 1920 in Honeybee, KY., the daughter of the Jasper and Allie (Vanover) Hicks.   Lola was a homemaker and she attended Sawyer Baptist Church, she enjoyed going to church, but spending time with her family was her greatest joy.    In addition to her husband, and parents, she is also preceded in death by her daughter; Pearlie Virginia Smith, brother; Hobert Hicks, and sisters; Nola Ridner, Ruth Ridner, Elizabeth Ridner and Clara Head, grandchildren; Bob Smith, Andy Smith and Ranzy Ridner.

She is survived by her sons; Archie Cecil Smith and wife Arlene of Tiffin, Ohio, Arthur Murel Smith of Port Clinton, Ohio, Andrew Jackson Smith and wife Anna of Bucyrus, Ohio, Jerry Ray Smith and wife Sue of Parkers Lake, KY., Clyde Mitchell Smith and wife Cathy of Tiffin, Ohio, Tom Duane Smith and wife Wanda of Marshes Siding, KY., Jasper Odell Smith of Revelo., KY., daughters; Rose Marie Sue Griffis and husband Eugene of Stearns, KY., Phyllis Irene Ridner and husband Ranzy of Sawyer, KY., Janie Arlene Smith Perry of Parkers Lake, KY., Forty six grandchildren, 74 great-grandchildren and 39 great great-grandchildren. 

Funeral services will be Thursday, October 1, 2020 at 11:00 AM with visitation on Wednesday, September 30, 2020 at 6:00 PM in the Chapel of McCreary County Funeral Home with  Brothers Dow Goodin and Brother John Goodin officiating with burial to follow in the Eagle Creek Cemetery.
