Marilyn "Monk" Rose Ridner

December 3, 1948 — March 2, 2020

Marilyn “Monk” Rose Ridner, age 71 years, of Pine Knot, Kentucky died March 2, 2020 at her home.

She was born in Winfield, Tennessee on December 3, 1948 the daughter of Thomas Leonard and Emma Jean (King) Ridner.  Marilyn was a special child of God and was very special to her family. Marilyn loved nothing more than spending time  with family, watching TV, coloring and going to church.  Holidays meant a lot to her especially Easter, Halloween, an Christmas, because those were her favorite and she loved getting gifts and candy. She was a member of the Davis Hill Church of God.

Her parents; sister, Carolyn Vivian Ridner and brother, Graylon Reed Ridner precede her in death.

Survivors include her brothers, Lindle Lee Ridner of Whitley City, Johnny Odell Ridner, William Dillard Ridner and wife, Rhonda, Freddie Bruce Ridner, and Scotty Reece Ridner all of Pine Knot; sisters, Mildred Retha Creekmore of Pine Knot, Marla Faye Garland of Lawrenceburg, and Sherry Sandra Kidd of Pine Knot; several nieces and nephews whom she loved dearly; and a special friend, Barb Taylor of Winfield.

She will be deeply missed by al who knew and loved her, and will always hold a special place in our hearts.

Funeral services will be held Thursday, March 5, 2020 at 1pm in the McCreary County Funeral Home with Bro. David Burton officiating. Burial to follow in the King Cemetery in Strunk. The family will receive friends after 6pm Wednesday, March 4, 2020 at the funeral home.
