Mary Jane Bryant

Mary Jane Bryant, age 77 years, of Whitley City, Kentucky died Sunday, October 15, 2023 at her home.

She was born in Marshes Siding, Kentucky on September 6, 1946 the daughter of Rev. Arnold Carl Canada and Mary Martha (Bell) Canada.  Mary had worked for the Shirt Factory as a machine operator. Fishing, hunting, camping, crossword puzzles, mowing, cooking and watching Wheel of Fortune were her favorite past times.

Her parents; husband, Harold Bryant; son, Gerald Bryant; brother, Arnold Carl Canada, Jr.; and sisters, Lois Ann Canada, Faye Vanover, and Nancey Todd precede her in death.

Survivors include her sons, Delane Bryant (Michelle) of Pine Knot, Kentucky and Kelly Bryant (Shelly) of Whitley City, Kentucky; daughters, Jenny McCoy (Jerry) of Whitley City, Kentucky, Melinda Tapley (Larry) of Pine Knot, Kentucky and Brandy Montgomery of Pine Knot, Kentucky; brothers, Gary Wayne Canada (Darlene) of Whitley City, Kentucky, Robert Canada (Wanda) of Ragland, Alabama, and Jim Canada (Martha) of Whitley City, Kentucky; sisters, Glenna Clark of Whitley City, Kentucky and Ruth Sumner (Bob) of Whitley City, Kentucky; grandchildren, Amber, Dapheny, Chelsea, Rodney, Shannon, Kell, Oscar, Levi, Haley, and Joshua; 15 great grandchildren; and 1 great-great grandchild, Preslee Jane.

Funeral services will be held 1pm Wednesday, October 18, 2023 at the McCreary County Funeral Home with Bro. Scottie Corder and Bro. Cody Canada officiating. Burial will follow in the Sandhill Cemetery. The family will receive friends after 11am Wednesday at the Funeral Home.
