Mary Lisa Juntunen

Mary Lisa Juntunen, age 57 years, of Whitley City, Kentucky died Friday, July 3, 2026 at the Jean Waddle Care Center in Somerset, Kentucky.

She was born in Somerset, Kentucky on October 26, 1968 the daughter of the late Alfred Phillips and Zula (Lyons) Phillips Harness. Due to the death of her father at such a young age, she was raised by the only dad she knew, Esco Harness. 

Lisa had been a Residential Aid and Medications Supervisor for Quest Community Services, and was a member of the Word of God Church in Jesus Name and the Rainbows with the Eastern Star. She had an avid love for her nieces, nephews, and pets, and she was a true caretaker for others, but her greatest joy was cooking for her family, so they could all gather and share love and laughter.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her son, Michael Christian Phillips; brother, Elbert Vernon Phillips, and sister, Charlene Phillips.

Survivors include her husband, Glen Charles Juntunen of Whitley City, Kentucky; brothers, Ernie Phillips and wife, Melissa of Stearns, Kentucky and Bernie Phillips and wife, Candy of Dalton, Georgia, and Tony Harness of Dalton, Georgia; brother-in-law, William Davis Juntunen and wife, Glenda; sister-in-law, Stacie Ann Lambert and husband, Justin; nieces and nephews, Corey Phillips (Lexi), Codey Phillips (Riley), Cortney Phillips, Cody Wooden (Keisha), Shelby Wooden, and Gabby Phillips; and great nieces and nephews, Weston James Phillips, Tatum Faye Phillips, Paisley Wooden, and Lindsey Wooden.

Funeral services will be held 1pm Tuesday, July 7, 2026 at the McCreary County Funeral Home with Bro. Mitchell Bunch officiating. Burial will follow in the Angel Cemetery. The family will receive friends after 11am Tuesday at the Funeral Home.
