Mary Ruth Wallen

Mary Ruth Wallen departed from this life on Thursday, July 2, 2015 at the Jean Waddle Care Center in Somerset, Kentucky. She had obtained the age of 85 years, 11 months and 29 days.  She was born in Strunk, Kentucky, on July 3, 1929 to the late Manuel and Ollie Mae (Wilson) Wallen.

Along with her parents she is preceded in death by her brothers: Hillary Wallen , Bob Wallen ,  James Wallen, and two infant brothers, sisters: Evelyn Spradlin, Zora Begley, Lorene Treet, and one infant sister.

She is survived by one brother: Manuel Wallen Jr. and wife Elsie of Revelo, Kentucky, one sister: Maxine Byrd of Revelo, Kentucky, with a host of other relatives and friends; nieces and nephews.

She was a member of the Meadows Grove Baptist Church.  She listened to their church program every Sunday and waited for Cora Lee Murphy to sing her a song.  She enjoyed spending time with her family and friends.

Funeral Servcies Sunday, July 5, 2015, at 1:00 p.m.  in the Chapel of the McCreary County Funeral Home with Bro. Bill King officiating. Burial at the Lower Hickory Grove Cemetery. McCreary County Funeral Home entrusted with the arrangements.
