Melissa Kaye Redford

Melissa Kaye Redford age 45 years, 4 months and 27 days, of Stearns, Kentucky, daughter of the late Charles Ray Whitaker, Jr. and Juanita Fayrene (Ridner) Whitaker, passed from this life on Thursday, March 15, 2018 at Jean Waddle Care Center in Somerset, Kentucky.

She was born October 16, 1972 in Columbus, Ohio.  Melissa is preceded in death by her parents: Charles Ray and Juanita Fayrene Ridner Whitaker.

She was a member of Sulphur Springs Baptist Church and enjoyed gardening, camping, fishing, being outdoors and especially spending time with her family.

Surviving family include her son: Dow Dewayne Crabtree of Stearns, daughters: Samantha Faye Stephens of Corbin, Jamie Bennish of Whitley City, sisters: Rachel Abbott of Parkers Lake, Charlene Roberts of Stearns and Nettie Murphy of Pine Knot; and step father: Bob Lewis of Stearns, Kentucky.  Melissa was greatly loved and will be sadly missed by her numerous nieces, nephews and great nieces and nephews.

Funeral services for Melissa Redford will be held Monday at 1:00 pm with visitation beginning at 11:00 am in the chapel of the McCreary County Funeral Home.  Brother Eddie Miller will officiate and burial will follow in the Mill Creek Cemetery.
